Yesterday in Morningside, fourteen people engaged in acts of public alienation, not together and not toward each other. Yesterday in Morningside, it rained twice. Once hard, once soft. In between, the sky was a suffocating blanket of grey flab. During the hard rain shower, six of the reported alienators and alinatees used the technology of the umbrella as a way to avoid each others' eyes.
The other eight isolated individuals simply stared shamelessly at the ground while passing each other in the street.
